The Huether Hotel Addition
Waterloo, Ontario
Addition to a Historic Landmark
Originally built in 1899, this iconic building has had many additions and revisions in it’s lifetime. This particular three storey addition was built on top of a secret underground cavern that is now part of the restaurant. Special care and demolition was required to complete the underground foundation work.
The new structure will house the brewing operations for the brew pub, and the second and third floors will provide additional kitchen space. As well, the new building has brick veneer that was sourced to match the existing facade. Many architectural details were incorporated into this addition to reflect the time period of the original structure.
