Closing Date: August 11th, 2026 @ 2pm The project will include the construction of a new 880m2 single-storey Paramedic Services station, including approximately 480m2 in a vehicle bay and 400m2 in a crew area. The project is incorporating sustainable building/construction practices, such as LEED® and CAGBC’s ZeroCarbonDesign. Mechanical and electrical systems are designed with these targets in mind, to be highly efficient and to eliminate the need for natural gas as the main source of heating. The General Contractor's and major trade contractors' experience with LEED projects, including submission requirements, enhanced building and systems commissioning, and tracking, will be key to project success. The structure of the post-disaster building will be slab-on-grade with OWSJ, steel deck and steel support. The mechanical systems include an in-floor hydronic heating system within the vehicle bay and variable refrigerant flow systems in the crew area, with ducted fan coil units. Mechanical systems will be monitored and controlled by a building automation system. The electrical systems include a new transformer, power distribution, emergency generator, lighting, voice and data systems and a rooftop solar PV array.
