WSP/MMM Group Limited

Kitchener, Ontario

Enermodal's new office building is a showcase for the ultimate in environmental sustainability and energy efficiency. It is expected to be the only building in Waterloo Region that qualifies for a triple platinum rating, the highest possible rating under the Canada Green Building Council's LEED program. Energy efficient features include:

-use of reclaimed and renewable materials
-triple-glazed windows
-walls made with insulated concrete forms
-energy-efficient lighting
-bamboo cabinets and trim
-sod-free landscaping

A narrow building footprint (12m across) maximizes natural daylight and minimizes electricity use. Heating and cooling is provided by individual room heat pumps that are connected by a loop. Toilets and urinals use rain water. Storm water from the site passes through a vegetated swale and treatment system to remove pollutants before it enters the sewer system.

What our clients have to say...

"We chose local firms, including contractor Melloul-Blamey Construction, not only to support local expertise but because of previous positive experience with this contractor and their commitment to creating a high performance, triple LEED Platinum (NC, CI, and EBOM) office that is also the most energy-efficient office in Canada? Many of the LEED points needed to achieve Platinum are almost exclusively the responsibility of the contractor and require extreme diligence and going beyond typical construction best practice?. Melloul Blamey and their site superintendent went above and beyond expectations and achieve these credits (over 90% of construction waste was diverted from the landfill)."
