Beautiful New Church in Mississauga
St. Josephine Bakhita Church is a great visual example of the pride we put into our projects. The job was very detail oriented and required a high degree of skill for completion. Looking at the completed site today will mesmerize you with the architectural details inside the church.
As beautiful as the church looks today, the project went through many challenges that were overcome and produced a great finish. One of the most predominant features is the high use of glued laminated timber, or glulam, that decorates the ceiling above the nave and sanctuary. However, tying this wooden structure in with the steel was a real challenge. Heavy hoisting was accomplished for the installation of these large and heavy areas of the building, involving an immense amount of care for the safety of those on site.
Even after months of delays for materials from the manufactures, we were able to attain substantial completion for the project only weeks after scheduled, delighting the owners of the new building. Tremendous organization and superb management skills of our site superintendent and the managers involved in the project ensured the success of this project.
