New Bus Storage and Servicing Facility

This new one storey bus facility can accommodate up to 20 single and double-decker GO buses for interior storage and includes bus servicing and minor repair facilities. It is located adjacent to the new Kitchener GO train layover facility and features an automated drive through wash bay, inspection pit, service bay with fluid dispensing systems, fuelling and monitoring bay, and administrative areas for both Bus and Rail functions.

Structural design incorporates poured concrete foundations with structural steel frame, insulated precast concrete panels, aluminum panel and masonry. Site work includes a new parking area, landscaping, and communication tower.

This project achieved Gold Certification by the LEED® Canada Green Building Rating System. Energy features include in-floor hydronic heating systems and HVAC systems, rainwater harvesting, and energy efficient electrical features.
