Fisher Family Primary Care Centre Expansion

The project supports the North Perth Family Health Team’s integrated care model and responds to increasing demand for primary care services in the growing Listowel community. Located adjacent to Listowel Memorial Hospital, the work included a 10,065 SF two-storey addition and 1,647 SF of interior renovations to the existing clinic, along with demolition of the adjacent Karges House and construction of new parking with provisions for future EV charging. The addition, designed in accordance with CSA Z8000 healthcare facility standards, introduced 16 exam rooms, new team stations and support areas, expanded administrative space, offices, teaching areas, and fully barrier-free patient and staff washrooms.

Designed by WalterFedy with engineering by CMT Engineering, the project also included significant mechanical and infrastructure upgrades, including new HVAC systems, air handling units, and heating and cooling equipment serving both new and existing clinical wings. Work was delivered through a carefully phased approach developed from an overall master plan, allowing critical upgrades to proceed as funding became available while
maintaining uninterrupted operation of active healthcare services. The completed facility improves patient flow, accessibility, and clinical capacity, providing modernized space to support physicians, nurse practitioners, residents, and staff while strengthening access to primary care across the region.
