Brantford Police Services Facility

Brantford , Ontario

Brantford’s First Net Zero Carbon Police Station

The Brantford Police Station redevelopment project, valued at $56 million, represents a pioneering step towards sustainable and efficient infrastructure in the city. This 127,217-square-foot project will be the city’s first carbon-zero building, incorporating triple-paned windows, a highly-efficient HVAC system, ultra-low flow plumbing fixtures, adaptive LED lighting with photocells, and solar panels on the roof. The new facility is designed to meet the evolving needs of the Brantford Police Service and the community for the next 25 to 30 years, enhancing operational efficiency and providing more space for innovation and collaboration.

City Council approved the plans in June 2022, recognizing the necessity to replace the outdated facility built in 1991 and expanded in 2006. The station has outgrown its current space, forcing some functions to relocate to other community facilities. This redevelopment reflects Brantford’s commitment to safeguarding the community while prioritizing sustainability, with the project expected to be completed within 30 months.
