State-of-the-Art Downtown Public Library

The City of Guelph’s Baker District is a development project that will transform an existing parking lot into a unique mixed-use development. A central aspect of this development will be the creation of a new modern library in downtown Guelph.

The new library will be designed to serve the needs of the community by offering a
range of services and resources in a welcoming and innovative environment. The library will feature state-of-the-art technology and interactive learning spaces that promote exploration and creativity. The library includes 2 floors of underground parking and a exterior landscaped Library Urban Square with flexible programmatic space and pedestrian pathways to future the furture Wyndham Library Square.

The design of the library will be inspired by the natural beauty of Guelph and its surrounding areas. The building will incorporate sustainable features, such as green roofs and energy-efficient systems. Other notable building features include terrace areas, a double height glazed atrium with a focued central stairwith overhead natural light from articulated sawtooth clerestory skylights.

The new modern library in downtown Guelph will be a landmark project that reflects the city's commitment to sustainable development and community building. It will serve as a space for learning, collaboration, and innovation, enhancing the sense of community for residents and visitors alike.
