Large-Scale Affordable Housing Development

Thirty townhomes on a 3.5-acre parcel of land were torn down to make way for a 147-unit development comprised of two new apartment buildings.
The first is a six-storey residential building with 55 family units including one, two and three-bedroom apartments.

The second five-storey seniors’ apartment building includes 92 fully accessible one-bedroom units on the second through fifth floor. Amenities include a common room available to residents for private and public parties and events and a guest suite. The commercial space underneath is home to the Simcoe County District School Board Adult Learning Centre, Ontario Works and other public agencies.

Both buildings are constructed of precast flooring and load bearing masonry walls, brick veneer, composite panels and vinyl windows. Landscape features include a state of the art park, gazebo, exercise equipment, and gardening areas.
