New Home for TextNow in evolv1 Building

TextNow, a Waterloo-based software firm and the world’s first cloud-based phone carrier, now occupies 40,000 square feet of evolv1, Canada’s first net zero positive office building. This state-of-the-art building gives back more energy than it uses. Green features include a geothermal heating and cooling system, a 40,000-litre cistern for rainwater harvesting, more than 1,000 solar panels, a 40-foot living plant wall, smart LEDs, and 28 electric vehicle charging stations.

The office layout has collaborative spaces throughout, providing an environment for teams to break out and step away from their routine while providing the openness needed to push the boundaries of innovation. This spacious, bright and open design truly articulates the company’s culture. Employees enjoy a variety of onsite amenities including a cafeteria (with free meals daily), an employee lounge with video games and foosball, a pub complete with beer tap and fireplace, massage therapy room, and free access to a 4,000 square foot fitness centre.
