Orillia Affordable Housing Simcoe County

Orillia, Ontario

New Multi-Use Affordable Housing Campus

This new multi-use affordable housing campus includes 130 mixed affordable residential units designed for seniors, families, and individuals. The attached office/commercial area is designed to house a collection of County of Simcoe services, including Ontario Works, Children and Community Services, Social Housing offices, and the potential for Corporate County services.

Forty-six units will be multi-bedroom units targeted to families, and the balance of the units are 1-bedroom and studio units. Amenities will include a common room for tenants with an ajacent rooftop patio area with sustainable planter box gardens.

This project aims to have a significant portion of the affordable housing area targets identified in the 10-Year Affordable Housing and Homelessness Prevention Strategy and the City of Orillia's Affordable Housing Action Plan, which identified the need to increase the city’s rental housing stock.
