University of Waterloo Needles Hall

Waterloo, Ontario

Accessible Administrative Expansion

Providing increased office and meeting space for the University of Waterloo, the Needles Hall expansion is a robust and versatile administrative building. The addition is connected to the existing Needles Hall via a three-storey glass link, and to the new science building by a bridge. A new, media friendly Board & Senate meeting room and related amenity space are housed on the third floor, with Counselling Services and Accessibility Services occupying the second and first floors respectively. Exterior features of the highly accessible addition include a 20-space below ground parking area and heated sidewalks and ramps to eliminate winter maintenance.
