As the other half of the founding Melloul–Blamey partnership, Dave Blamey and his friend Bernie Melloul both graduated from Kitchener’s Conestoga College in 1972, launching their own firm 10 years later.
Both Dave and Bernie credit Neville ’ Monty ’ Monteith, of Monteith McGrath Construction Company for teaching them the ethics and values they implemented when establishing their own company. As Chief Estimator, Dave naturally has a keen eye and sharp pencil, thereby playing an integral role in helping Melloul–Blamey surpass $100 million in annual sales.
In 2000, Dave moved south to open a new Melloul–Blamey office in Greenville, South Carolina – yet another example of a great Canadian success story that is being written over the border.
In addition to his numerous awards, including a Paul Harris Fellowship from Rotary International (Rotary’s highest award for community service), Dave has also attracted an astounding number of professional references as a testament to his long history in the construction industry.
